Pathanisation - Supporting Pashto on GNU/Linux
Pathanisation is a Meta project that is aimed at fully supporting the Pashto language in the Unix/Linux environment. It is designed to be a central location to standardize the Pathanisation process. Pathanisation relies on voluntary contributions by computer professionals and enthusiasts all over the world.
Our primary goals are:
:: Translate popular and major XServer applications ::
We, currently, are working on providing Pashto support for free useful software and desktop environments as GNOME and KDE. Our intention is to help develop and maintain open source/free software targeted towards the Pashto speaking users.
:: Translate popular and useful free tools ::
Besides working on big projects like GNOME and KDE, we are trying hard to work on small and useful tools and translate them to Pashto language.
:: Develop and support free Pashto fonts ::
We are also working on developing and adding Pashto support to fonts which doesn't already have it. For example, we have added Pashto support to some fonts developed by the Arabeyes.org project.
