Pathanisation - Supporting Pashto on GNU/Linux

Pathanisation is a Meta project that is aimed at fully supporting the Pashto language in the Unix/Linux environment. It is designed to be a central location to standardize the Pathanisation process. Pathanisation relies on voluntary contributions by computer professionals and enthusiasts all over the world.

Our primary goals are listed below:

:: Translate popular and major XServer applications ::

We are working on providing Pashto support for some major XServer applications such as office suites, database, development tools and desktop environments like GNOME, KDE. Our intention is to help develop and maintain open source/free software targeted towards the Pashto speaking users.

:: Translate popular and useful free tools ::

Besides working on big projects like GNOME and KDE, we are trying hard to work on small and useful applications and tools and translate them to Pashto language.

:: Develop and support free Pashto fonts ::
We are also working on developing and adding Pashto support to fonts which are developed by non-Pashto speakers. For example, we have added Pashto support to some fonts developed by the Arabeyes.org project.

Volunteering for Pathanisation
Pathanisation is involved in several projects which includes both translation and development projects and are working hard. But, this needs many volunteers and workers and cannot be done by one or few persons. Therefore, we need your help in all of our projects and request you to help us improve and advance our projects.  If you want to be a member of the Pathanisation family, please do get in touch with us at pakhtosoft at gmail dot com.
We always welcome volunteers and really need their help.
